The August show at VALISE Gallery includes two guest artists, Francesca Fuller and Joan Wortis, and a member of the VALISE collective, Gay Schy.  Each of these artists is showing a body of work in which words and letters, not always recognizable as such, are part of the pieces.

Joan Wortis says, “Words, letters, and letter forms from many languages inhabit my work for their implied meaning and visual beauty.” Francesca  Fuller describes her work as “studying simplicity into another dimension through photography and words.” Gay Schy weaves her own handwriting into her encaustic and mixed media work.
