October 7th: Opening Reception
Two encaustic artists will be showing their work at Valise Gallery during October. Gay Schy, a member of VALISE and Lynn-Mauser-Bain, a California artist, will both be showing encaustic painting as well as a joint installation of encaustic monotype scrolls.
Opening Reception: October 7th, 6:00 to 9:00pm.

October 9th 4W: Poetry Workshop
Lonny Kaneka, a poet and teacher, will lead an interactive poetry workshop at the VALISE Gallery cooperative in Downtown Vashon from 3-5PM on Sunday October 9th. The workshop will draw inspiration from the images of Gay Schy, a VALISE member and Lynn-Mauser-Bain, a California artist. These artists will be showing their own encaustic paintings as well as a joint installation of encaustic monotype scrolls which are back lit.
This workshop is part of an ongoing monthly community service, known as 4W, which VALISE has each month. These workshops are free and open to all. Please bring paper and a pen. If you need further information please contact Gay Schy at 567.5450.
